Day 39: Knit Happens

 

“Whatever happened to that knitting you started?”
I paused. Knitting? Oh! That knitting—from soggy old Day 4, when the rain forced me to swap adventures for a ball of wool and some vague optimism.

Thankfully, there haven’t been too many rainy days since—but there have been evenings spent flopped in front of the telly, needles clicking away in my best “purl one, plain one” fashion.

Now, full disclosure: I did not fully read the pattern beforehand. Turns out, it’s knitted in one piece. One. Complicated. Piece. Something I had never done before, but was apparently too proud to admit.

Despite that, it’s somehow taking shape—miraculously resembling what it’s supposed to look like. I’m now on the home stretch, and dare I say… it’s actually turning out quite well?



Watch this space. I may emerge from this summer with a tan and a finished project. Stranger things have happened.
