“Whatever
happened to that knitting you started?”
I paused. Knitting? Oh! That knitting—from soggy old Day 4, when the
rain forced me to swap adventures for a ball of wool and some vague optimism.
Thankfully,
there haven’t been too many rainy days since—but there have been
evenings spent flopped in front of the telly, needles clicking away in my best “purl
one, plain one” fashion.
Now, full
disclosure: I did not fully read the pattern beforehand. Turns out, it’s
knitted in one piece. One. Complicated. Piece. Something I had never done
before, but was apparently too proud to admit.
Despite
that, it’s somehow taking shape—miraculously resembling what it’s supposed
to look like. I’m now on the home stretch, and dare I say… it’s actually
turning out quite well?
Watch
this space. I may emerge from this summer with a tan and a finished
project. Stranger things have happened.
