There I was, semi-glued to the couch, in danger of slowly slipping down the glossy rabbit hole that is Love Island, when I had a moment of clarity:
“Do something cultural,” I told myself. “Balance out the brain cells you’re losing.”
So I grabbed my keys and headed to the Esker Arts Centre in Tullamore for Summer Shorts—a series of three short plays all exploring relationships: marital discord, family drama, and everything messy in between.
Honestly? I had no idea what I was in for. But I laughed. I cried. I may have snorted once or twice (apologies to the row in front).
All three plays were brilliantly written and performed—and the cherry on top?
A tenner.
Yes, TEN EURO for a full night of live theatre. I’ve paid more for a soggy cinema nacho combo.
So if you’re looking for culture, catharsis, and better plotlines than anything in Casa Amor, I highly recommend.
